1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sinnot. Andif any mansin, we have an advocatewith the Father, JesusChrist the righteous:
2Andheis the propitiationforoursins: andnotforoursonly, butalsofor the sins of the wholeworld.
3Andhereby we do knowthat we knowhim, if we keephiscommandments.

He that saith, I knowhim, andkeepethnothiscommandments, is a liar, and the truthisnotinhim.
5Butwhosokeepethhisword, inhimverilyis the love of Godperfected: hereby know wethatweareinhim.
6He that saithheabidethinhimoughthimselfalsoso to walk, even ashewalked.
7Brethren, I writenonewcommandment unto you, but an oldcommandmentwhich ye hadfrom the beginning. The oldcommandmentis the wordwhich ye have heardfrom the beginning.
8Again, a newcommandment I write unto you, which thingistrueinhimandinyou: because the darknessispast, and the truelightnowshineth.

He that saith he isin the light, andhatethhisbrother, isindarkness even untilnow.

He that lovethhisbrotherabidethin the light, and there isnone occasion of stumblinginhim.
11But he that hatethhisbrotherisindarkness, andwalkethindarkness, andknowethnotwhither he goeth, because that darkness hath blindedhiseyes.

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgivenyouforhis name's sake.

I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye arestrong, and the word of Godabidethinyou, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
15Lovenot the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any manlove the world, the love of the Fatherisnotinhim.
16Forall that isin the world, the lustof the flesh, and the lustof the eyes, and the prideoflife, isnotof the Father, butisof the world.
17And the world passeth away, and the lustthereof: but he that doeth the will of Godabidethforever.

Little children, it is the lasttime: andas ye have heardthatantichrist shall come, evennow are theremanyantichrists; whereby we knowthat it is the lasttime.

They went outfromus, but they werenotofus; forif they had beenofus, they would no doubt have continuedwithus: but they went out, that they might be made manifestthat they werenotallofus.
20Butyehave an unctionfrom the Holy One, andyeknow all things.

I havenotwritten unto youbecause ye knownot the truth, butbecause ye knowit, andthatnolieisof the truth.
22Whois a liarbuthethatdenieththatJesusis the Christ?Heisantichrist, thatdenieth the Fatherand the Son.
23Whosoeverdenieth the Son, the same hathnot the Father:(but) he that acknowledgeth the Sonhath the Fatheralso.
24Let that thereforeabideinyou, whichye have heardfrom the beginning. If that whichye have heardfrom the beginning shall remaininyou, yealso shall continuein the Son, andin the Father.
25Andthisis the promisethathe hath promisedus, even eternallife.
26These things have I written unto youconcerning them that seduceyou.
27But the anointingwhichye have receivedofhimabidethinyou, andyeneednotthat any manteachyou: butas the sameanointingteachethyouof all things, andistruth, andisnolie, and even as it hath taughtyou, ye shall abideinhim.
28Andnow, little children, abideinhim; that, when he shall appear, we may haveconfidence, andnot be ashamedbeforehimathiscoming.
29If ye knowthat he isrighteous, ye knowthat every onethatdoethrighteousnessisbornofhim.
