Unto Timothy, my ownsonin the faith: Grace, mercy, andpeace, fromGodourFatherandJesusChristourLord.
3As I besoughtthee to abide stillatEphesus, when I wentintoMacedonia, that thou mightest chargesomethat they teachno other doctrine,
4Neither give heed to fablesandendlessgenealogies, whichministerquestions, ratherthangodlyedifyingwhich is infaith: so do.
5Now the endof the commandmentischarity out of a pureheart, andof a goodconscience, andoffaithunfeigned:

From whichsome having swerved have turned asideunto vain jangling;
7Desiring to be teachers of the law; understandingneitherwhat they say, norwhereof they affirm.
8But we knowthat the law is good, if a manuseitlawfully;
9Knowingthis, that the lawisnotmade for a righteous man, but for the lawlessanddisobedient, for the ungodlyand for sinners, for unholyandprofane, for murderers of fathersand murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sounddoctrine;
11Accordingto the gloriousgospel of the blessedGod, which was committed tomytrust.
12And I thankChristJesusourLord, who hath enabledme, for that he countedmefaithful, putting meinto the ministry;
13Whowasbefore a blasphemer, and a persecutor, andinjurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantlyinunbelief.
14And the grace of ourLord was exceeding abundantwithfaithandlovewhich is inChristJesus.

This is a faithfulsaying, andworthy of allacceptation, thatChristJesuscameinto the world to savesinners; of whomIamchief.
16Howbeitforthiscause I obtained mercy, thatinmefirstJesusChrist might shew forthalllongsuffering, for a patternto them which should hereafterbelieveonhimtolifeeverlasting.
17Now unto the Kingeternal, immortal, invisible, the onlywiseGod, be honourandgloryforeverandever. Amen.
18Thischarge I commit unto thee, sonTimothy, according to the prophecies which went beforeonthee, thatthoubythem mightest war a goodwarfare;
19Holdingfaith, and a goodconscience; whichsome having put awayconcerningfaith have made shipwreck:

Of whomisHymenaeusandAlexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learnnot to blaspheme.
