1Letasmanyservantsasareunder the yokecount their ownmastersworthy of allhonour, that the name of Godand his doctrinebenotblasphemed.
2And they that havebelievingmasters, let themnotdespisethem, because they arebrethren; butrather do themservice, because they arefaithfulandbeloved, partakers of the benefit. These thingsteachandexhort.

If any man teach otherwise, andconsentnot to wholesomewords, even the words of ourLordJesusChrist, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowingnothing, butdotingaboutquestionsand strifes of words, whereofcomethenvy, strife, railings, evilsurmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corruptminds, anddestitute of the truth, supposing that gainisgodliness: fromsuch withdraw thyself.
6Butgodlinesswithcontentmentisgreatgain.
7For we broughtnothinginto this world, and it is certain we cancarrynothingout.
8Andhavingfoodandraiment let us betherewithcontent.
9But they that will be richfallintotemptationand a snare, andintomanyfoolishandhurtfullusts, whichdrownmenindestructionandperdition.
10For the love of moneyis the root of allevil: which while some coveted after, they have erredfrom the faith, andpiercedthemselvesthrough with manysorrows.
11Butthou, Oman of God, flee these things; and follow afterrighteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12Fight the goodfight of faith, lay hold oneternallife, whereunto thou artalsocalled, and hast professed a goodprofessionbeforemanywitnesses.

I givetheecharge in the sight of God, whoquickeneth all things, andbeforeChristJesus, whobeforePontiusPilatewitnessed a goodconfession;

That thoukeep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of ourLordJesusChrist:
15Which in histimes he shall shew, who is the blessedandonlyPotentate, the King of kings, andLord of lords;
16Whoonlyhathimmortality, dwelling in the light which no mancan approach unto; whom no manhathseen, norcansee: to whom be honourandpowereverlasting. Amen.
17Charge them that are richinthisworld, that they benothighminded, nortrustinuncertainriches, butin the livingGod, whogivethusrichly all thingstoenjoy;

That they do good, that they be richingoodworks, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19
Laying up in store for themselves a goodfoundationagainst the time to come, that they may lay hold oneternallife.
20OTimothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoidingprofaneand vain babblings, andoppositions of science falsely so called:
21Whichsomeprofessing have erredconcerning the faith. Grace be withthee. Amen. The firsttoTimothy was writtenfromLaodicea, whichis the chiefest city of PhrygiaPacatiana.
