Paul, an apostle of JesusChristby the will of God, andTimothy our brother, unto the church of GodwhichisatCorinth, withall the saintswhichareinallAchaia:
Grace be to youandpeacefromGodourFather, andfrom the LordJesusChrist.
Blessed be God, even the Father of ourLordJesusChrist, the Father of mercies, and the God of allcomfort;
Whocomfortethusinallourtribulation, thatwe may be able to comfort them which are inanytrouble, by the comfortwherewithweourselves are comfortedofGod.
Foras the sufferings of Christaboundinus, soourconsolationalsoaboundethbyChrist.
Andwhetherwe be afflicted, it is foryourconsolationandsalvation, which is effectualin the enduring of the samesufferingswhichwealsosuffer: or whetherwe be comforted, it is foryourconsolationandsalvation.
Andourhopeofyou is stedfast, knowing, thatas ye arepartakersof the sufferings, so shall ye be alsoof the consolation.
Forwewouldnot, brethren, haveyouignorantofourtroublewhichcame to usinAsia, thatwe were pressedoutofmeasure, abovestrength, insomuchthatwedespairedevenoflife:
But we had the sentence of deathinourselves, that we shouldnottrustinourselves, butinGodwhichraiseth the dead:
Whodeliveredusfrom so great a death, and doth deliver: inwhom we trustthat he willyetdeliverus;
Yealso helping togetherbyprayerforus, thatfor the gift bestowed uponusby the means of manypersons thanks may begivenbymany on our behalf.
Forourrejoicingisthis, the testimony of ourconscience, thatinsimplicityandgodlysincerity, notwithfleshlywisdom, butby the grace of God, we have had ourconversationin the world, and more abundantlytoyou-ward.
For we writenone other things unto you, thanwhat ye readoracknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledgeevento the end;
Asalsoye have acknowledgedusinpart, that we areyourrejoicing, even asyealsoareoursin the day of the LordJesus.
And in thisconfidence I was minded to comeuntoyoubefore, that ye might have a secondbenefit;
And to passbyyouintoMacedonia, and to comeagain out ofMacedoniauntoyou, andofyou to be brought on my waytowardJudaea.

When Ithereforewasthusminded, did Iuselightness?or the things thatIpurpose, do Ipurposeaccording to the flesh, thatwithme there should beyeayea, andnaynay?
But as God is true, ourwordtowardyouwasnotyeaandnay.
For the Son of God, JesusChrist, whowaspreachedamongyoubyus, even bymeandSilvanusandTimotheus, wasnotyeaandnay, butinhimwasyea.
Forall the promises of Godinhim are yea, andinhimAmen, unto the glory of Godbyus.
Now he which stablishethuswithyouinChrist, and hath anointedus, is God;
Whohathalsosealedus, andgiven the earnest of the Spiritinourhearts.
MoreoverIcallGod for a recorduponmysoul, that to spareyouIcame not as yetuntoCorinth.
Notforthat we have dominion overyourfaith, butarehelpers of yourjoy: for by faith ye stand.
