SimonPeter, a servantand an apostle of JesusChrist, to them that have obtained like preciousfaith with usthrough the righteousness of GodandourSaviourJesusChrist:
Graceandpeace be multiplied unto youthrough the knowledge of God, and of JesusourLord,

According ashisdivinepower hath givenuntous all things that pertain untolifeandgodliness, through the knowledge of him that hath calledustogloryandvirtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding greatandpreciouspromises: thatbythese ye might bepartakers of the divinenature, having escaped the corruptionthat is in the worldthroughlust.
For if these thingsbeinyou, andabound, they makeyou that ye shall neitherbebarrennorunfruitfulin the knowledge of ourLordJesusChrist.
But he thatlacketh these thingsisblind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgottenthat he was purged fromhisoldsins.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to makeyourcallingandelectionsure: for if ye do these things, ye shallneverfall:
Forso an entrance shall be ministered unto youabundantlyinto the everlastingkingdom of ourLordandSaviourJesusChrist.
Wherefore I willnot be negligent to putyoualwaysinremembranceof these things, though ye know them, and be establishedin the presenttruth.
Yea, I think itmeet, as long as I aminthistabernacle, to stiryouupby putting youinremembrance;
Knowingthatshortly I must put off this mytabernacle, evenasourLordJesusChrist hath shewedme.
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be ableaftermydecease to have these thingsalways in remembrance.
For we havenotfollowed cunningly devisedfables, when we made known unto you the powerandcoming of ourLordJesusChrist, butwereeyewitnesses of hismajesty.
For he receivedfromGod the Fatherhonourandglory, when there camesuch a voice to himfrom the excellentglory, ThisismybelovedSon, inwhomI am well pleased.
Andthisvoice which camefromheavenweheard, when wewerewithhimin the holymount.
