Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the HolyGhost had given commandments unto the apostleswhom he had chosen:

To whomalso he shewedhimselfaliveafterhispassionbymany infallible proofs, being seen of themfortydays, andspeaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
And, being assembled togetherwiththem, commandedthem that they shouldnotdepartfromJerusalem, butwait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thouatthistime restore again the kingdom to Israel?
And he saiduntothem, It isnot for you to know the timesor the seasons, which the Father hath putin his ownpower.
But ye shall receivepower, after that the HolyGhost is comeuponyou: and ye shall bewitnessesuntomebothinJerusalem, andinallJudaea, andinSamaria, andunto the uttermost part of the earth.
And when he had spoken these things, while theybeheld, he was taken up; and a cloudreceivedhim out oftheirsight.
Andwhile they looked stedfastlytowardheaven as he went up, behold, twomen stood bytheminwhiteapparel;
Whichalsosaid, Yemen of Galilee, why stand ye gazing upintoheaven? this sameJesus, which is taken upfromyouintoheaven, shallsocome in like manner asye have seenhimgointoheaven.
Then returned theyuntoJerusalemfrom the mountcalledOlivet, whichisfromJerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
Andwhen they were come in, they went upinto an upper room, whereabodebothPeter, andJames, andJohn, andAndrew, Philip, andThomas, Bartholomew, andMatthew, James the son of Alphaeus, andSimonZelotes, andJudas the brother of James.
Theseallcontinuedwith one accord in prayerandsupplication, with the women, andMary the mother of Jesus, andwithhisbrethren.
AndinthosedaysPeter stood upin the midst of the disciples, and said,(the number of namestogetherwereabout an hundredandtwenty,)
Men and brethren, thisscripturemust needs have been fulfilled, which the HolyGhostby the mouth of David spake beforeconcerningJudas, whichwasguide to them that tookJesus.
For he wasnumberedwithus, and had obtainedpart of thisministry.
Now this manpurchased a fieldwith the reward of iniquity; andfallingheadlong, he burst asunder in the midst, andallhisbowels gushed out.
And it wasknown unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch asthatfield is called in theirpropertongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
For it is writtenin the book of Psalms, Lethishabitationbedesolate, andlet no mandwelltherein: andhisbishoprickletanothertake.
Wherefore of thesemen which have companied with usall the timethat the LordJesuswentinandoutamongus,

And they appointedtwo, JosephcalledBarsabas, who was surnamedJustus, andMatthias.
And they prayed, andsaid, Thou, Lord, which knowest the heartsofall men, shewwhetherofthesetwo thou hast chosen,

That he may takepart of thisministryandapostleship, fromwhichJudas by transgression fell, that he might goto his ownplace.
And they gave forththeirlots; and the lotfelluponMatthias; and he was numberedwith the elevenapostles.
