Thereforeweought to give the more earnestheed to the things which we have heard, lest at any timewe should let them slip.
Forif the wordspokenbyangelswasstedfast, andeverytransgressionanddisobediencereceived a just recompence of reward;
How shall weescape, if weneglect so greatsalvation; which at the firstbegan to be spokenby the Lord, and was confirmeduntousby them that heard him;
God also bearing them witness, both with signsandwonders, and with diversmiracles, andgifts of the HolyGhost, according to his ownwill?
For unto the angels hath henot put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
Butone in a certain placetestified, saying, Whatisman, that thou art mindful of him?or the son of man, that thou visitesthim?

Thou madesthim a littlelowerthan the angels; thou crownedsthim with gloryandhonour, and didst sethimover the works of thyhands:

Thou hast putallthingsinsubjectionunderhisfeet. Forin that he putallinsubjectionunderhim, he left nothing that is notputunderhim. Butnow we seenotyetallthingsputunderhim.
But we seeJesus, who was made a littlelowerthan the angelsfor the suffering of death, crowned with gloryandhonour; thathe by the grace of God should tastedeathfor every man.
For it becamehim, forwhom are all things, andbywhom are all things, in bringingmanysonsuntoglory, to make the captain of theirsalvationperfectthroughsufferings.
Forboth he that sanctifiethand they who are sanctified are allofone: forwhichcause he isnotashamed to callthembrethren,
Saying, I will declarethyname unto mybrethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
Andagain, Iwill put my trustinhim. Andagain, BeholdIand the childrenwhichGod hath givenme.
Forasmuchthen as the children are partakers of fleshandblood, healsohimselflikewise took part of the same; thatthroughdeathhe might destroy him thathad the power of death, thatis, the devil;
Anddeliverthemwhothroughfear of deathwereall their lifetimesubject to bondage.
Forverily he tooknoton him the nature of angels; but he tookon him the seed of Abraham.
Whereforein all things it behoved himtobe made like unto his brethren, that he might be a mercifulandfaithful high priestinthings pertaining toGod, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Forinthathehimself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
