No man hath seenGod at any time; the only begottenSon, whichisin the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19Andthisis the record of John, when the JewssentpriestsandLevitesfromJerusalemtoaskhim, Whoartthou?
20And he confessed, anddeniednot; butconfessed, Iamnot the Christ.
21And they askedhim, Whatthen?ArtthouElias?And he saith, I amnot. Artthou that prophet?And he answered, No.
22Then said they unto him, Who art thou?that we may give an answer to them thatsentus. What sayest thouofthyself?

He said, I am the voice of one cryingin the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, assaid the prophetEsaias.
24And they whichweresentwereof the Pharisees.
25And they askedhim, andsaid unto him, Why baptizest thouthen, ifthoubenot that Christ, norElias, neither that prophet?
26Johnansweredthem, saying, Ibaptizewithwater: but there standeth oneamongyou, whomyeknownot;
27He it is, whocomingaftermeispreferredbeforeme, whose shoe's latchetIamnotworthytounloose.

These things were doneinBethabarabeyondJordan, whereJohnwasbaptizing.

The next dayJohnseethJesuscominguntohim, andsaith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30This is heofwhomIsaid, Aftermecometh a manwhich is preferredbeforeme: forhewasbeforeme.

And Iknewhimnot: butthat he should be made manifest to Israel, thereforeamIcomebaptizingwithwater.
32AndJohn bare record, saying, I saw the Spiritdescendingfromheavenlike a dove, and it abodeuponhim.
33AndIknewhimnot: but he that sentme to baptizewithwater, the samesaid unto me, Uponwhom thou shalt see the Spiritdescending, andremainingonhim, the sameis he which baptizethwith the HolyGhost.
34AndIsaw, and bare recordthatthisis the Son of God.
35Again the next day afterJohnstood, andtwoofhisdisciples;
36And looking uponJesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
37And the twodisciplesheardhimspeak, and they followedJesus.
38ThenJesusturned, andsawthemfollowing, andsaith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi,(which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

He saith unto them, Comeandsee. They cameandsawwhere he dwelt, andabodewithhimthatday: for it wasabout the tenthhour.
40Oneof the twowhichheardJohn speak, andfollowedhim, wasAndrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41Hefirstfindeth his ownbrotherSimon, andsaith unto him, We have found the Messias, whichis, being interpreted, the Christ.
42And he broughthimtoJesus. And when Jesusbeheldhim, he said, ThouartSimon the son of Jona: thou shalt be calledCephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

The day followingJesuswould go forthintoGalilee, andfindethPhilip, andsaith unto him, Followme.
44NowPhilipwasofBethsaida, the cityofAndrewandPeter.
45PhilipfindethNathanael, andsaith unto him, We have foundhim, ofwhomMosesin the law, and the prophets, did write, JesusofNazareth, the sonofJoseph.
46AndNathanaelsaid unto him, Can there any good thingcome out ofNazareth?Philipsaith unto him, Comeandsee.
47JesussawNathanaelcomingtohim, andsaithofhim, Behold an Israeliteindeed, inwhomisnoguile!
48Nathanaelsaith unto him, Whence knowest thoume?Jesusansweredandsaid unto him, Before that Philipcalledthee, when thouwastunder the fig tree, I sawthee.
49Nathanaelansweredandsaith unto him, Rabbi, thouart the Son of God; thouart the King of Israel.
50Jesusansweredandsaid unto him, Because I said unto thee, I sawtheeunder the fig tree, believest thou?thou shalt see greater things than these.
51And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall seeheavenopen, and the angels of Godascendinganddescendingupon the Son of man.
