When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forthwithhisdisciplesover the brookCedron, wherewas a garden, into the whichheentered, andhisdisciples.
2AndJudasalso, whichbetrayedhim, knew the place: forJesusofttimesresortedthitherwithhisdisciples.
3Judasthen, having received a band of men andofficersfrom the chief priestsandPharisees, comeththitherwithlanternsandtorchesandweapons.
4Jesustherefore, knowing all things that should comeuponhim, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

They answeredhim, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesussaith unto them, Iam he. AndJudasalso, whichbetrayedhim, stoodwiththem.

As soonthen as he had said unto them, Iam he, they wentbackward, andfell to the ground.
7Then asked hethemagain, Whom seek ye?And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8Jesusanswered, I have toldyouthatIam he: iftherefore ye seekme, letthese go their way:
9That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Ofthemwhich thou gavestme have Ilostnone.
10ThenSimonPeterhaving a sworddrewit, andsmote the high priest's servant, and cut offhisrightear. The servant's namewasMalchus.
11ThensaidJesus unto Peter, Put upthyswordinto the sheath: the cupwhich my Father hath givenme, shall Inotdrinkit?
12Then the bandand the captainandofficers of the JewstookJesus, andboundhim,
13AndledhimawaytoAnnasfirst; for he was father in lawtoCaiaphas, whichwas the high priest that sameyear.
14NowCaiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedientthatoneman should diefor the people.
15AndSimonPeterfollowedJesus, and so did anotherdisciple: thatdisciplewasknown unto the high priest, and went in withJesusinto the palace of the high priest.
16ButPeterstoodat the doorwithout. Then went out that otherdisciple, whichwasknown unto the high priest, andspake unto her that kept the door, and brought inPeter.
17Thensaith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Artnotthoualso one ofthis man's disciples?Hesaith, I amnot.
18And the servantsandofficersstoodthere, who had made a fire of coals; for it wascold: and they warmed themselves: andPeterstoodwiththem, and warmed himself.

The high priestthenaskedJesusofhisdisciples, andofhisdoctrine.
20Jesusansweredhim, Ispakeopenly to the world; Ievertaughtin the synagogue, andin the temple, whither the Jewsalwaysresort; andinsecret have Isaidnothing.
21Why askest thoume?askthem which heard me, whatI have said unto them: behold, theyknowwhatIsaid.
22And when hehadthusspoken, one of the officers which stood bystruckJesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priestso?
23Jesusansweredhim, If I have spokenevil, bear witnessof the evil: butifwell, whysmitest thou me?

Now Annas had senthimbounduntoCaiaphas the high priest.
25AndSimonPeterstoodand warmed himself. They saidtherefore unto him, Artnotthoualso one ofhisdisciples?Hedenied it, andsaid, I amnot.
26Oneof the servantsof the high priest, being his kinsmanwhoseearPeter cut off, saith, DidnotIseetheein the gardenwithhim?
27Peterthendeniedagain: andimmediately the cockcrew.
28Then led theyJesusfromCaiaphasunto the hall of judgment: and it wasearly; andtheythemselveswentnotinto the judgmenthall, lestthey should be defiled; butthatthey might eat the passover.
29Pilatethen went outuntothem, andsaid, Whataccusation bring yeagainstthisman?

They answeredandsaid unto him, Ifhewerenot a malefactor, we wouldnot have deliveredhimup unto thee.
31ThensaidPilate unto them, Takeyehim, andjudgehimaccording to yourlaw. The Jewsthereforesaid unto him, It isnotlawful for us to put any man to death:
32That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifyingwhatdeath he shoulddie.
33ThenPilateenteredinto the judgment hallagain, andcalledJesus, andsaid unto him, Artthou the King of the Jews?
34Jesusansweredhim, Sayestthou this thingofthyself, or did others tell ittheeofme?
35Pilateanswered, AmI a Jew? Thine ownnationand the chief priests have deliveredthee unto me: what hast thou done?
36Jesusanswered, Mykingdomisnotofthisworld: ifmykingdomwereofthisworld, then wouldmyservantsfight, that I shouldnot be delivered to the Jews: butnowismykingdomnot from hence.
37Pilatethereforesaid unto him, Artthou a kingthen?Jesusanswered, ThousayestthatIam a king. Tothis end wasIborn, andforthis cause came Iinto the world, thatI should bear witness unto the truth. Every onethatisof the truthhearethmyvoice.
38Pilatesaithuntohim, Whatistruth?And when he had saidthis, he went outagainunto the Jews, andsaithuntothem, Ifindinhimnofault at all.
39Butyehave a custom, that I should release unto youoneat the passover: will yethereforethat I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40Then cried theyallagain, saying, Not this man, butBarabbas. NowBarabbaswas a robber.
