And the soldiersplatted a crownofthorns, and put it onhishead, and they put onhim a purplerobe,
Andsaid, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smotehim with their hands.
Pilatethereforewentforthagain, andsaith unto them, Behold, I bringhimforth to you, that ye may knowthat I findnofaultinhim.
ThencameJesusforth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purplerobe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
When the chief prieststhereforeandofficerssawhim, they cried out, saying, Crucifyhim, crucifyhim. Pilatesaith unto them, Takeyehim, andcrucifyhim: forIfindnofaultinhim.

The Jewsansweredhim, Wehave a law, andbyourlaw he ought to die, because he madehimself the Son of God.
WhenPilatethereforeheardthatsaying, he was the moreafraid;
Andwentagaininto the judgment hall, andsaith unto Jesus, Whenceartthou?ButJesusgavehimnoanswer.
ThensaithPilate unto him, Speakest thounot unto me? knowest thounotthat I havepower to crucifythee, andhavepower to releasethee?
Jesusanswered, Thou couldest havenopower at all againstme, except it weregiventhee from above: therefore he that deliveredme unto theehath the greatersin.

And fromthenceforthPilatesought to releasehim: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this mango, thou artnotCaesar's friend: whosoevermakethhimself a king speaketh againstCaesar.

When Pilatethereforeheardthatsaying, he broughtJesusforth, and sat downin the judgment seatin a placethat is called the Pavement, butin the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
And it was the preparation of the passover, andabout the sixthhour: and he saith unto the Jews, BeholdyourKing!
But they cried out, Away withhim, away withhim, crucifyhim. Pilatesaith unto them, Shall I crucifyyourKing? The chief priestsanswered, We havenokingbutCaesar.
Then delivered hehimtherefore unto themto be crucified. And they tookJesus, and led himaway.
And he bearinghiscross went forthinto a placecalled the place of a skull, which is called in the HebrewGolgotha:
Where they crucifiedhim, andtwootherwithhim, on either side one, andJesus in the midst.
AndPilatewrote a title, andput it on the cross. And the writingwas, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Thistitlethenreadmany of the Jews: for the placewhereJesuswascrucifiedwasnigh to the city: and it waswritten in Hebrew, andGreek, andLatin.
Thensaid the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Writenot, The King of the Jews; butthathesaid, I amKing of the Jews.
Pilateanswered, What I have written I have written.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucifiedJesus, tookhisgarments, andmadefourparts, to everysoldier a part; andalsohiscoat: now the coatwas without seam, wovenfrom the topthroughout.

They saidthereforeamongthemselves, Let usnotrendit, butcastlotsforit, whoseit shall be: that the scripture might befulfilled, whichsaith, They partedmyraimentamongthem, andformyvesture they didcastlots. These thingstherefore the soldiersdid.
Now there stoodby the cross of Jesushismother, andhismother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, andMaryMagdalene.

When Jesusthereforesawhismother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto hismother, Woman, beholdthyson!
Then saith he to the disciple, Beholdthymother! Andfromthathourthatdiscipletookherunto his own home.
Afterthis, Jesusknowingthat all thingswerenowaccomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
Now there was set a vesselfull of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, andput it uponhyssop, andput it to hismouth.
WhenJesustherefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

The Jewstherefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodiesshouldnotremainupon the crosson the sabbath day,(for that sabbath daywas an highday,) besoughtPilatethattheirlegs might be broken, andthat they might be taken away.
Thencamethesoldiers, andbrakethelegs of thefirst, and of theotherwhich was crucified withhim.
Butwhen they cametoJesus, and saw that he was deadalready, they brakenothislegs:
Butone of the soldiers with a spearpiercedhisside, andforthwith came there outbloodandwater.
Andhethatsaw it bare record, andhisrecordistrue: andheknoweththathesaithtrue, thatye might believe.
For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of himshallnot be broken.
Andagainanotherscripturesaith, They shall lookon him whom they pierced.
AndafterthisJosephofArimathaea, being a discipleofJesus, butsecretlyforfearof the Jews, besoughtPilatethat he might take away the bodyofJesus: andPilate gave him leave. He cametherefore, andtook the bodyofJesus.
And there camealsoNicodemus, which at the firstcametoJesus by night, andbrought a mixture of myrrhandaloes, about an hundredpound weight.
Then took they the body of Jesus, andwoundit in linen clotheswith the spices, as the manner of the Jewsis to bury.
Nowin the placewhere he wascrucified there was a garden; andin the garden a newsepulchre, whereinwasnevermanyetlaid.
There laid theyJesusthereforebecause of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchrewas nigh at hand.
