5Then cometh heto a city of Samaria, which is calledSychar, nearto the parcel of groundthatJacobgavetohissonJoseph.
6Now Jacob's wellwasthere. Jesustherefore, being weariedwith his journey, satthuson the well: and it wasabout the sixthhour.

There cometh a womanofSamaria to drawwater: Jesussaith unto her, Giveme to drink.

9Thensaith the womanofSamaria unto him, How is it thatthou, being a Jew, askestdrinkofme, which am a womanofSamaria?for the Jewshavenodealings with the Samaritans.
10Jesusansweredandsaid unto her, Ifthouknewest the gift of God, andwho it is that saith to thee, Giveme to drink; thouwouldest have asked of him, and he would have giventheelivingwater.

The womansaith unto him, Sir, thouhastnothing to draw with, and the wellisdeep: from whencethenhastthou that livingwater?
12Artthougreater than ourfatherJacob, whichgaveus the well, anddrankthereofhimself, andhischildren, andhiscattle?
14Butwhosoeverdrinkethof the waterthatIshallgivehimshallneverthirst; but the waterthatIshallgivehimshallbeinhim a wellofwater springing upintoeverlastinglife.

The womansaithuntohim, Sir, givemethiswater, that I thirstnot, neithercomehither to draw.

The womanansweredandsaid, I havenohusband. Jesussaid unto her, Thou hastwellsaid, I havenohusband:
18Forthouhasthadfivehusbands; and he whomthounowhastisnotthyhusband: in that saidst thoutruly.

The womansaith unto him, Sir, I perceivethatthouart a prophet.
20Ourfathersworshippedinthismountain; andyesay, thatinJerusalemis the placewhere men ought to worship.
21Jesussaith unto her, Woman, believeme, the hourcometh, when ye shallneitherinthismountain, nor yetatJerusalem, worship the Father.
22Yeworshipyeknownotwhat: weknowwhatweworship: forsalvationisof the Jews.
23But the hourcometh, andnowis, when the trueworshippers shall worship the Fatherinspiritandintruth: for the Fatherseekethsuch to worshiphim.
24God is a Spirit: and they that worshiphimmustworshiphiminspiritandintruth.

The womansaith unto him, I knowthatMessiascometh, which is calledChrist: whenhe is come, he will tellus all things.
26Jesussaith unto her, I that speak unto theeam he.
27Anduponthiscamehisdisciples, andmarvelledthat he talkedwith the woman: yet no mansaid, What seekest thou?or, Why talkest thouwithher?

The womanthenleftherwaterpot, and went herwayinto the city, andsaith to the men,
29Come, see a man, whichtoldme all things that ever I did: isnotthis the Christ?
30Then they went out of the city, andcameuntohim.
31In the mean while his disciplesprayedhim, saying, Master, eat.
32But he said unto them, Ihavemeat to eatthatyeknownotof.
33Thereforesaid the disciples one to another, Hath any manbroughthim ought to eat?
34Jesussaith unto them, Mymeatistodo the will of him that sentme, andtofinishhiswork.
35Saynotye, Thereareyet four months, and then comethharvest?behold, I say unto you, Lift upyoureyes, and look on the fields; for they arewhitealreadytoharvest.
36And he thatreapethreceivethwages, andgatherethfruituntolifeeternal: thatboth he thatsowethand he thatreapeth may rejoicetogether.
37Andhereinis that sayingtrue, Onesoweth, andanotherreapeth.
38Isentyou to reap that whereonyebestowednolabour: other menlaboured, andye are enteredintotheirlabours.
39Andmanyof the Samaritansofthatcitybelievedonhimfor the sayingof the woman, which testified, He toldmeallthatever I did.
40Sowhen the Samaritans were comeuntohim, they besoughthim that he would tarrywiththem: and he abodetheretwodays.
41Andmanymorebelievedbecause of his ownword;
42Andsaid unto the woman, Now we believe, notbecause of thysaying: for we have heard him ourselves, andknowthatthisisindeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
43Nowaftertwodays he departedthence, and went intoGalilee.
44ForJesushimselftestified, that a prophethathnohonourin his owncountry.
45Thenwhen he was comeintoGalilee, the Galilaeansreceivedhim, having seen all the thingsthat he didatJerusalemat the feast: fortheyalsowentunto the feast.
46SoJesuscameagainintoCana of Galilee, where he made the waterwine. And there was a certainnobleman, whosesonwassickatCapernaum.

When heheardthatJesus was come out ofJudaeaintoGalilee, hewentuntohim, andbesoughthimthathe would comedown, andhealhisson: forhe was at the pointofdeath.
48ThensaidJesusuntohim, Except ye seesignsandwonders, ye willnotbelieve.

The noblemansaithuntohim, Sir, come downeremychilddie.
50Jesussaith unto him, Go thyway; thysonliveth. And the manbelieved the wordthatJesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51And as he was now going down, hisservantsmethim, andtoldhim, saying, Thysonliveth.
52Then enquired heofthem the hourwhenhebegan to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventhhour the feverlefthim.
53So the fatherknewthat it was at the samehour, in the whichJesussaid unto him, Thysonliveth: andhimselfbelieved, andhiswholehouse.
54This is again the secondmiracle that Jesusdid, when he was come outofJudaeaintoGalilee.
