And it came to pass, that, ashewasprayingin a certainplace, whenheceased, one of hisdisciplessaiduntohim, Lord, teachus to pray, asJohnalsotaughthisdisciples.
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, OurFatherwhich art inheaven, Hallowed bethyname. Thykingdomcome. Thywillbedone, asinheaven, soinearth.
Giveusday by dayourdailybread.
Andforgiveusoursins; forwealsoforgive every one that is indebted to us. Andleadusnotintotemptation; butdeliverusfromevil.
And he saiduntothem, Whichofyou shall have a friend, and shall gountohim at midnight, andsayuntohim, Friend, lendmethreeloaves;
For a friend of minein his journey is cometome, and I havenothingto set beforehim?
Andhe from within shall answerandsay, Troublemenot: the doorisnowshut, andmychildrenarewithmeinbed; I cannotriseandgivethee.

I say unto you, Though he willnotrise and givehim, because he ishisfriend, yetbecause of hisimportunity he willrise and givehimas many as he needeth.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be givenyou; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
For every one that askethreceiveth; and he that seekethfindeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
If a son shall askbread of any of you that is a father, will hegivehim a stone?orifheask a fish, will hefor a fishgivehim a serpent?
Orif he shall ask an egg, will he offerhim a scorpion?
Ifyethen, beingevil, know how to givegoodgifts unto yourchildren: how muchmoreshallyourheavenlyFathergive the HolySpirit to them that askhim?
And he was casting out a devil, anditwasdumb. Andit came to pass, when the devilwas gone out, the dumbspake; and the peoplewondered.
Butsomeofthemsaid, He casteth outdevilsthroughBeelzebub the chiefof the devils.
Andothers, temptinghim, soughtofhim a signfromheaven.
Buthe, knowingtheirthoughts, said unto them, Everykingdomdividedagainstitself is brought to desolation; and a housedividedagainst a housefalleth.
IfSatanalso be dividedagainsthimself, howshallhiskingdomstand?because ye say that I cast outdevilsthroughBeelzebub.
AndifIbyBeelzebub cast outdevils, bywhomdoyoursons cast them out?therefore shall theybeyourjudges.
Butif I with the finger of God cast outdevils, no doubt the kingdom of God is comeuponyou.
When a strong manarmedkeepethhispalace, hisgoodsareinpeace:
Butwhen a stronger than he shall come upon him, andovercomehim, hetaketh from him all hisarmourwhereinhetrusted, anddividethhisspoils.

He that isnotwithmeisagainstme: and he that gatherethnotwithmescattereth.
When the uncleanspirit is goneoutof a man, he walkeththroughdryplaces, seekingrest; andfindingnone, he saith, I will returnuntomyhousewhence I came out.
And when he cometh, he findeth it sweptandgarnished.
Then goeth he, andtaketh to him sevenotherspirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, anddwellthere: and the last state of thatmanisworse than the first.
And it came to pass, ashespake these things, a certainwomanof the company lifted up her voice, andsaid unto him, Blessed is the womb that barethee, and the papswhich thou hast sucked.
Buthesaid, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, andkeepit.
And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, Thisis an evilgeneration: they seek a sign; and there shallnosign be givenit, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
ForasJonaswas a sign unto the Ninevites, soshallalso the Son of manbe to thisgeneration.

The queen of the south shall rise upin the judgmentwith the men of thisgeneration, andcondemnthem: for she camefrom the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater thanSolomon is here.

The men of Nineve shall rise upin the judgmentwiththisgeneration, and shall condemnit: for they repentedat the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater thanJonas is here.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neitherunder a bushel, buton a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

The light of the bodyis the eye: thereforewhenthineeyeissingle, thywholebodyalsois full of light; butwhenthineeyeisevil, thybodyalsois full of darkness.

Take heedtherefore that the lightwhich is intheebenotdarkness.
Ifthywholebodythereforebe full of light, havingnopartdark, the whole shall be full of light, aswhen the bright shining of a candle doth givetheelight.
Andas he spake, a certainPhariseebesoughthimtodinewithhim: and he went in, and sat down tomeat.
And when the Phariseesaw it, he marvelledthat he hadnotfirstwashedbeforedinner.
And the Lordsaiduntohim, NowdoyePharisees make clean the outside of the cupand the platter; butyour inward part is full of raveningandwickedness.

Ye fools, didnot he that made that which is withoutmake that which is withinalso?

But rathergivealms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all thingsareclean unto you.
Butwoe unto you, Pharisees! foryetithemintandrueand all manner of herbs, and pass overjudgmentand the love of God: these ought ye to have done, andnot to leave the otherundone.
Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seatsin the synagogues, andgreetingsin the markets.
Woe unto you, scribesandPharisees, hypocrites! for ye areasgraveswhich appear not, and the men that walkover them arenotaware of them.
Thenansweredone of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thussaying thou reproachestusalso.
And he said, Woe unto youalso, ye lawyers! for ye lademen with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselvestouchnot the burdens with one of yourfingers.
Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, andyourfatherskilledthem.
Trulyye bear witnessthatyeallow the deeds of yourfathers: fortheyindeedkilledthem, andyebuildtheirsepulchres.
Thereforealsosaid the wisdomofGod, I will sendthemprophetsandapostles, and some ofthem they shall slayandpersecute:
That the bloodofall the prophets, which was shedfrom the foundationof the world, may be requiredofthisgeneration;
From the bloodofAbelunto the bloodofZacharias, whichperishedbetween the altarand the temple: verily I sayuntoyou, It shall be requiredofthisgeneration.
Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye enterednotinyourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
And as hesaid these thingsuntothem, the scribesand the Phariseesbegan to urgehimvehemently, and to provokehim to speakof many things:

Laying wait forhim, andseeking to catchsomething out ofhismouth, that they might accusehim.
