AndJesusansweringspakeunto the lawyersandPharisees, saying, Is itlawful to heal on the sabbath day?

And he put forth a parableto those which were bidden, when he markedhow they chose out the chief rooms; sayinguntothem,
Whenthou art biddenofanymanto a wedding, sitnotdownin the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thoubebiddenofhim;
And he that badetheeandhimcomeandsay to thee, Give this manplace; and thou beginwithshame to take the lowestroom.
Butwhenthou art bidden, go and sit downin the lowestroom; thatwhen he thatbadetheecometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, gouphigher: then shalt thouhaveworshipin the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
Forwhosoeverexaltethhimself shall be abased; and he that humblethhimself shall be exalted.
Then said healso to him that badehim, When thou makest a dinneror a supper, callnotthyfriends, northybrethren, neitherthykinsmen, northyrichneighbours; lesttheyalsobidtheeagain, and a recompence be madethee.
Butwhen thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
Andthou shalt beblessed; for they cannotrecompensethee: forthou shalt berecompensedat the resurrection of the just.
And when one of them that sat at meat with himheard these things, hesaid unto him, Blessed is he that shall eatbreadin the kingdom of God.
Then said he unto him, A certainmanmade a greatsupper, andbademany:
Andsenthisservant at suppertime to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all thingsarenowready.
And they allwithone consent began to make excuse. The firstsaid unto him, I havebought a piece of ground, and I mustneedsgoandseeit: I praytheehavemeexcused.
Andanothersaid, I haveboughtfiveyoke of oxen, and I go to provethem: I praytheehavemeexcused.
Andanothersaid, I have married a wife, andtherefore I cannotcome.
Sothatservantcame, andshewedhislord these things. Then the master of the house being angrysaid to hisservant, Go outquicklyinto the streetsandlanes of the city, and bring inhither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
And the servantsaid, Lord, it isdoneas thou hast commanded, andyet there isroom.
And the lordsaidunto the servant, Go outinto the highwaysandhedges, andcompel them to come in, thatmyhouse may be filled.
For I say unto you, Thatnone of thosemenwhich were bidden shall taste of mysupper.
And there wentgreatmultitudes with him: and he turned, andsaiduntothem,
