3Andallwent to be taxed, every oneinto his owncity.
4AndJosephalso went upfromGalilee, out of the cityofNazareth, intoJudaea, unto the cityofDavid, which is called Bethlehem;(because hewasof the houseandlineageofDavid:)

To be taxedwithMaryhisespousedwife, being great withchild.
6And so it was, that, whiletheywerethere, the dayswereaccomplished that she should be delivered.
7And she brought forthherfirstbornson, andwrappedhimin swaddling clothes, andlaidhimin a manger; because there wasnoroom for themin the inn.
8And there werein the samecountryshepherds abiding in the field, keepingwatchovertheirflock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came uponthem, and the glory of the Lord shone round aboutthem: and they were soreafraid.
10And the angelsaid unto them, Fearnot: for, behold, I bringyou good tidings of greatjoy, which shall be to allpeople.
11For unto youisborn this dayin the city of David a Saviour, whichisChrist the Lord.
12Andthis shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lyingin a manger.
13Andsuddenly there waswith the angel a multitude of the heavenlyhostpraisingGod, andsaying,
14Glory to Godin the highest, andonearthpeace, good willtowardmen.
15And it came topass, as the angels were gone awayfromthemintoheaven, the shepherdssaidonetoanother, Let usnowgo even untoBethlehem, andseethisthingwhich is come topass, which the Lord hath made knownuntous.
16And they came with haste, andfoundMary, andJoseph, and the babelyingin a manger.
17And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the sayingwhich was toldthemconcerningthischild.
18Andall they that heard it wonderedat those things which were toldthemby the shepherds.
19ButMarykeptall these things, and pondered them inherheart.
20And the shepherdsreturned, glorifyingandpraisingGodfor all the thingsthat they had heardandseen, as it was tolduntothem.
21Andwheneightdays were accomplished for the circumcisingof the child, hisname was calledJESUS, which was so namedof the angelbeforehe was conceivedin the womb.
22Andwhen the days of herpurificationaccordingto the law of Moses were accomplished, they broughthimtoJerusalem, topresenthimto the Lord;

(As it is writtenin the law of the Lord, Everymale that openeth the womb shall be calledholy to the Lord;)
24And to offer a sacrificeaccording to that which is saidin the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, ortwoyoungpigeons.
25And, behold, there was a maninJerusalem, whosenamewasSimeon; and the samemanwasjustanddevout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the HolyGhostwasuponhim.
26And it wasrevealed unto himby the HolyGhost, that he shouldnotseedeath, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27And he cameby the Spiritinto the temple: and when the parentsbroughtin the childJesus, to doforhimafter the custom of the law,
29Lord, now lettest thouthyservantdepartinpeace, according to thyword:
30Formineeyes have seenthysalvation,
31Which thou hast preparedbefore the face of allpeople;

A lighttolighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thypeopleIsrael.
33AndJosephandhismothermarvelledat those things which were spokenofhim.
34AndSimeonblessedthem, andsaiduntoMaryhismother, Behold, this child is setfor the falland rising again of manyinIsrael; andfor a sign which shall be spoken against;

(Yea, a sword shall pierce throughthyownsoulalso,) that the thoughtsofmanyhearts may be revealed.
36And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughterofPhanuel, of the tribeofAser: shewasof a greatage, and had livedwith an husbandsevenyearsfromhervirginity;
37Andshe was a widow of aboutfourscoreandfouryears, whichdepartednotfrom the temple, but served God with fastingsandprayersnightandday.
38Andshe coming inthatinstant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, andspakeofhim to all them thatlooked for redemptioninJerusalem.
39Andwhen they had performed all thingsaccordingto the law of the Lord, they returnedintoGalilee, to their owncityNazareth.
40And the childgrew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of Godwasuponhim.
41NowhisparentswenttoJerusalemeveryyear at the feast of the passover.
42Andwhen he wastwelve years old, they went uptoJerusalemafter the custom of the feast.
43And when they had fulfilled the days, astheyreturned, the childJesus tarried behindinJerusalem; andJosephandhismotherknewnot of it.
44But they, supposinghim to have beenin the company, went a day's journey; and they soughthimamong their kinsfolkandacquaintance.
45And when they foundhimnot, they turned back againtoJerusalem, seekinghim.
46And it came to pass, that afterthreedays they foundhimin the temple, sittingin the midst of the doctors, bothhearingthem, andaskingthemquestions.
47Andall that heardhim were astonishedathisunderstandingandanswers.
48And when they sawhim, they were amazed: andhismothersaiduntohim, Son, why hast thouthusdealt with us?behold, thyfatherandI have soughttheesorrowing.
49And he saiduntothem, How is it thatyesoughtme? wist yenotthatImustbeaboutmy Father's business?
50Andtheyunderstoodnot the sayingwhich he spake unto them.
51And he went downwiththem, andcametoNazareth, andwassubject unto them: buthismotherkeptallthesesayingsinherheart.
52AndJesusincreased in wisdomandstature, and in favourwithGodandman.
