1And he arose from thence, andcomethinto the coasts of Judaeaby the farther side of Jordan: and the peopleresortuntohimagain; and, as he was wont, he taughtthemagain.
2And the Pharisees came to him, andaskedhim, Is itlawful for a man to put away his wife?temptinghim.
3And he answeredandsaid unto them, What did Mosescommandyou?
4And they said, Mosessuffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5AndJesusansweredandsaid unto them, For the hardness of yourheart he wroteyouthisprecept.
6Butfrom the beginning of the creationGodmadethemmaleandfemale.

For this causeshall a manleavehisfatherandmother, andcleavetohiswife;
8And they twain shall beoneflesh: so then they are no moretwain, butoneflesh.
9WhatthereforeGod hath joined together, letnotman put asunder.
10Andin the househisdisciplesaskedhimagainof the same matter.
11And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put awayhiswife, andmarryanother, committeth adulteryagainsther.
12Andif a woman shall put awayherhusband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
13And they brought young children to him, that he should touchthem: and his disciplesrebuked those thatbroughtthem.
14But when Jesussaw it, he was much displeased, andsaiduntothem, Suffer the little children to comeuntome, andforbidthemnot: for of suchis the kingdom of God.
15Verily I say unto you, Whosoevershallnotreceive the kingdom of Godas a little child, he shallnotentertherein.
16And he tookthem up in his arms, put his handsuponthem, andblessedthem.
17And when he was gone forthinto the way, there cameonerunning, andkneeled to him, andaskedhim, GoodMaster, what shall I dothat I may inheriteternallife?
18AndJesussaid unto him, Why callest thoumegood? there is nonegoodbutone, that is, God.
20And he answeredandsaid unto him, Master, allthese have I observedfrommyyouth.
21ThenJesusbeholdinghimlovedhim, andsaid unto him, One thingthoulackest: go thy way, sellwhatsoeverthouhast, andgive to the poor, andthou shalt havetreasureinheaven: andcome, take up the cross, andfollowme.
22And he was sadat that saying, and went awaygrieved: for he hadgreatpossessions.
23AndJesus looked round about, andsaith unto hisdisciples, Howhardly shall they that haverichesenterinto the kingdom of God!
24And the disciples were astonishedathiswords. ButJesusanswerethagain, andsaith unto them, Children, howhard is it for them that trustinriches to enterinto the kingdom of God!

It iseasier for a camel to gothrough the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enterinto the kingdom of God.
26And they were astonished out of measure, sayingamongthemselves, Who then can be saved?
27AndJesus looking uponthemsaith, Withmen it is impossible, butnotwithGod: forwithGod all thingsarepossible.
28ThenPeterbegan to say unto him, Lo, we have leftall, and have followedthee.
29AndJesusansweredandsaid, Verily I say unto you, There is no manthat hath lefthouse, orbrethren, orsisters, orfather, ormother, orwife, orchildren, orlands, for mysake, and the gospel's,
30But he shall receive an hundredfoldnowinthistime, houses, andbrethren, andsisters, andmothers, andchildren, andlands, withpersecutions; andin the world to comeeternallife.
31Butmany that are first shall belast; and the lastfirst.
32And they werein the way going uptoJerusalem; andJesuswentbeforethem: and they wereamazed; and as they followed, they wereafraid. And he tookagain the twelve, andbegantotellthem what things shouldhappen unto him,
33Saying, Behold, we go uptoJerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemnhimtodeath, and shall deliverhimto the Gentiles:
34And they shall mockhim, and shall scourgehim, and shall spit uponhim, and shall killhim: and the thirdday he shall rise again.
35AndJamesandJohn, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we wouldthat thou shouldest do for uswhatsoever we shall desire.
36And he said unto them, Whatwould ye that I should do for you?

They said unto him, Grant unto usthat we may sit, oneonthy right hand, and the otheronthy left hand, inthyglory.
38ButJesussaid unto them, Yeknownotwhatyeask: can yedrinkof the cupthatIdrinkof?and be baptizedwith the baptismthatI am baptizedwith?
39And they said unto him, We can. AndJesussaid unto them, Ye shallindeeddrinkof the cupthatIdrinkof; and with the baptismthatI am baptizedwithalshall ye be baptized:
40But to sitonmy right handandonmy left handisnotmine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it isprepared.
41And when the tenheard it, they began to be much displeasedwithJamesandJohn.
42ButJesuscalledthem to him, andsaith unto them, Ye knowthat they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; andtheir great ones exercise authority upon them.
44Andwhosoever of youwillbe the chiefest, shall beservant of all.
45Foreven the Son of mancamenot to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to givehislife a ransomformany.
46And they cametoJericho: and as hewent out ofJerichowithhisdisciplesand a great number ofpeople, blindBartimaeus, the sonofTimaeus, satby the highway sidebegging.
47And when he heardthat it wasJesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, andsay, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
48Andmanychargedhimthat he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
49AndJesus stood still, andcommandedhim to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleththee.
