Know ye not, brethren,(for I speak to them thatknow the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a manas long as he liveth?
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; butif the husband be dead, she is loosedfrom the law of her husband.

So thenif, while her husbandliveth, she be married to anotherman, she shall be called an adulteress: butif her husband be dead, sheisfreefrom that law; so that sheisnoadulteress, though she be married to anotherman.
Wherefore, mybrethren, yealso are become dead to the lawby the body of Christ; thatye should be married to another, even to him who is raisedfrom the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Forwhen we werein the flesh, the motions of sins, whichwereby the law, did workinourmembers to bring forth fruit unto death.
Butnowwe are deliveredfrom the law, that being deadwhereinwe were held; thatwe should serveinnewness of spirit, andnotin the oldness of the letter.
What shall we saythen? Is the lawsin? God forbid. Nay, I hadnotknownsin, butby the law: for I hadnotknownlust, except the lawhadsaid, Thou shaltnotcovet.
Butsin, takingoccasionby the commandment, wroughtinme all manner ofconcupiscence. Forwithout the lawsin was dead.
ForI was alivewithout the lawonce: but when the commandmentcame, sinrevived, andIdied.
And the commandment, which was ordained tolife, Ifoundto be untodeath.
Forsin, takingoccasionby the commandment, deceivedme, andbyitslewme.
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandmentholy, andjust, andgood.

Was thenthat which is goodmadedeath unto me? God forbid. Butsin, that it might appearsin, workingdeath in mebythat which is good; thatsinby the commandment might becomeexceedingsinful.
For we knowthat the lawisspiritual: butIamcarnal, soldundersin.
