1And the apostlesandbrethrenthatwereinJudaeaheardthat the Gentileshadalsoreceived the word of God.
2AndwhenPeter was come uptoJerusalem, they that were of the circumcisioncontendedwithhim,
3Saying, Thou wentest intomenuncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
4ButPeter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
5Iwasin the city of Joppapraying: andin a tranceIsaw a vision, A certainvesseldescend, as it had been a greatsheet, let downfromheaven by fourcorners; and it cameeven to me:
6Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, andsaw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, andfowls of the air.
7And I heard a voicesaying unto me, Arise, Peter; slayandeat.
8But I said, Not so, Lord: fornothingcommonoruncleanhath at any timeenteredintomymouth.
9But the voiceansweredmeagainfromheaven, WhatGod hath cleansed, that callnotthoucommon.
10Andthis was done three times: andall were drawn upagainintoheaven.
11And, behold, immediately there werethreemenalreadycomeunto the housewhere I was, sentfromCaesareauntome.
12And the Spiritbademe go withthem, nothingdoubting. Moreoverthesesixbrethrenaccompaniedme, and we enteredinto the man's house:
13And he shewedushow he had seen an angelinhishouse, which stoodandsaid unto him, SendmentoJoppa, and call forSimon, whose surname isPeter;
14Who shall telltheewords, wherebythouandallthyhouse shall be saved.
15AndasIbegan to speak, the HolyGhostfellonthem, asonusat the beginning.
16Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, Johnindeedbaptizedwithwater; butye shall be baptizedwith the HolyGhost.
17ForasmuchthenasGodgavethem the likegiftas he did unto us, who believedon the LordJesusChrist; whatwasI, that IcouldwithstandGod?
18When they heard these things, they held their peace, andglorifiedGod, saying, ThenhathGodalso to the Gentilesgrantedrepentanceuntolife.
19Now they which were scattered abroadupon the persecution that aroseaboutStephentravelledas far asPhenice, andCyprus, andAntioch, preaching the word to nonebut unto the Jewsonly.
20AndsomeofthemweremenofCyprusandCyrene, which, when they werecometoAntioch, spakeunto the Grecians, preaching the LordJesus.
21And the hand of the Lordwaswiththem: and a greatnumberbelieved, andturnedunto the Lord.
22Thentidingsof these thingscameunto the earsof the churchwhich was inJerusalem: and they sent forthBarnabas, that he should goas far asAntioch.
23Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, andexhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24For he was a goodman, andfull of the HolyGhostand of faith: andmuchpeoplewasadded unto the Lord.
25ThendepartedBarnabastoTarsus, for toseekSaul:
26And when he had foundhim, he broughthimuntoAntioch. And it came to pass, that a wholeyearthey assembled themselveswith the church, andtaughtmuchpeople. And the disciples were calledChristiansfirstinAntioch.
28And there stood uponeofthemnamedAgabus, andsignifiedby the Spirit that there should begreatdearththroughoutall the world: which came to pass in the days ofClaudiusCaesar.
29Then the disciples, everyman according to his ability, determinedtosendreliefunto the brethren which dweltinJudaea:
30Whichalso they did, and sent itto the eldersby the hands of BarnabasandSaul.
