There was a certainmaninCaesareacalledCornelius, a centurionof the bandcalled the Italianband,

A devout man, and one that fearedGodwithallhishouse, whichgavemuchalms to the people, andprayed to Godalway.

He sawin a visionevidentlyabout the ninthhour of the day an angel of God coming intohim, andsaying unto him, Cornelius.
4And when he looked on him, he wasafraid, andsaid, What is it, Lord?And he said unto him, Thyprayersandthinealms are come upfor a memorialbeforeGod.
5AndnowsendmentoJoppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname isPeter:
6HelodgethwithoneSimon a tanner, whosehouseisby the sea side: he shall telltheewhatthououghtest to do.
7Andwhen the angelwhichspake unto Cornelius was departed, he calledtwo of his household servants, and a devoutsoldier of them that waited onhimcontinually;
8And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sentthemtoJoppa.

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went upupon the housetop to prayabout the sixthhour:
10Andhebecame very hungry, andwould have eaten: but while they made ready, hefellinto a trance,
11Andsawheavenopened, and a certainvesseldescendinguntohim, as it had been a greatsheetknit at the fourcorners, and let downto the earth:
12Whereinwere all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, andfowls of the air.
13And there came a voicetohim, Rise, Peter; kill, andeat.
14ButPetersaid, Not so, Lord; for I havenevereaten any thing that is commonorunclean.
15And the voice spake untohimagain the second time, WhatGod hath cleansed, that callnotthoucommon.
16This was donethrice: and the vessel was received upagainintoheaven.
17NowwhilePeterdoubtedinhimselfwhat this visionwhich he had seen should mean, behold, the menwhich were sentfromCornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stoodbefore the gate,
18Andcalled, andaskedwhetherSimon, which was surnamedPeter, were lodgedthere.
19WhilePeterthoughton the vision, the Spiritsaid unto him, Behold, threemenseekthee.
20Arisetherefore, and get thee down, andgowiththem, doubtingnothing: forI have sentthem.
21ThenPeter went downto the menwhich were sentuntohimfromCornelius; and said, Behold, Iam he whom ye seek: what is the causewherefore ye are come?
22And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a justman, and one that fearethGod, andof good reportamongall the nationof the Jews, was warned from Godby an holyangel to send for theeintohishouse, and to hearwordsofthee.
23Then called hethemin, andlodgedthem. And on the morrowPeter went awaywiththem, andcertainbrethrenfromJoppaaccompaniedhim.
24And the morrow after they enteredintoCaesarea. AndCornelius waited forthem, and had called togetherhiskinsmenandnearfriends.
25AndasPeterwas coming in, Corneliusmethim, and fell downat his feet, andworshippedhim.
26ButPetertookhimup, saying, Stand up; Imyselfalsoam a man.
27And as he talked with him, he went in, andfoundmany that were come together.
28And he saiduntothem, Yeknowhow that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; butGod hath shewedme that I should notcallanymancommonorunclean.
29Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: Iaskthereforeforwhatintent ye have sent forme?
30AndCorneliussaid, Fourdaysago I wasfastinguntilthishour; and at the ninthhour I prayedinmyhouse, and, behold, a manstoodbeforemeinbrightclothing,
31Andsaid, Cornelius, thyprayer is heard, andthinealms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32SendthereforetoJoppa, and call hitherSimon, whose surname isPeter; heislodgedin the house of one Simon a tannerby the sea side: who, when hecometh, shall speak unto thee.
33Immediatelytherefore I senttothee; andthou hast welldone that thou art come. Nowthereforeareweall here presentbeforeGod, tohearallthings that arecommandedtheeofGod.
34ThenPeteropened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceivethatGodisno respecter ofpersons:
35Butineverynation he that fearethhim, andworkethrighteousness, isaccepted with him.

The wordwhich God sent unto the children of Israel, preachingpeacebyJesus Christ:(he isLord of all:)

That word, I say, yeknow, which was publishedthroughoutallJudaea, and beganfromGalilee, after the baptismwhichJohnpreached;
38HowGodanointedJesusofNazarethwith the HolyGhostandwithpower: who went about doing good, andhealingall that were oppressedof the devil; forGodwaswithhim.
39Andwearewitnesses of all thingswhich he didbothin the land of the Jews, andinJerusalem; whom they slewandhangedon a tree:
40HimGod raised up the thirdday, andshewedhimopenly;
41Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen beforeofGod, even to us, who did eatand drink withhimafterherosefrom the dead.
42Andhecommandedus to preach unto the people, and to testifythat it ishewhich was ordainedofGod to be the Judgeofquickanddead.

To himgiveall the prophetswitness, that throughhisnamewhosoeverbelievethinhim shall receiveremission of sins.

While Peteryetspakethesewords, the HolyGhostfellonall them which heard the word.
45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came withPeter, because that on the Gentilesalso was poured out the giftof the HolyGhost.
46For they heardthem speak withtongues, andmagnifyGod. ThenansweredPeter,
47Can any manforbidwater, that theseshouldnot be baptized, which have received the HolyGhostas well aswe?
48And he commandedthem to be baptizedin the name of the Lord. Then prayed theyhim to tarrycertaindays.
