And as theyspakeunto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came uponthem,

Being grievedthattheytaught the people, andpreachedthroughJesus the resurrectionfrom the dead.
And they laidhands on them, andputtheminholdunto the next day: for it wasnoweventide.
Howbeitmany of them which heard the wordbelieved; and the number of the menwasaboutfivethousand.
And it came to passon the morrow, that theirrulers, andelders, andscribes,
AndAnnas the high priest, andCaiaphas, andJohn, andAlexander, andas many aswereof the kindredof the high priest, were gathered togetheratJerusalem.
And when they had setthemin the midst, they asked, Bywhatpower, orbywhatname, haveyedonethis?
ThenPeter, filled with the HolyGhost, saiduntothem, Ye rulers of the people, andelders of Israel,
Ifwe this day be examinedof the good deed done to the impotentman, by what meanshe is made whole;

Be itknown unto youall, and to all the people of Israel, thatby the name of JesusChrist of Nazareth, whomyecrucified, whomGodraisedfrom the dead, even byhimdoth this man stand herebeforeyouwhole.
Thisis the stonewhich was set at noughtofyoubuilders, whichisbecome the headof the corner.
Neitheristheresalvationinanyother: forthereisnoneothernameunderheavengivenamongmen, wherebywemust be saved.
Now when they saw the boldness of PeterandJohn, andperceivedthat they wereunlearnedandignorantmen, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had beenwithJesus.
Andbeholding the man which was healedstandingwiththem, they couldsaynothing against it.
But when they had commandedthem to go aside out of the council, they conferredamongthemselves,
Saying, What shall we do to thesemen?forthatindeed a notablemiracle hath been donebythem is manifest to all themthatdwell in Jerusalem; and we cannotdeny it.
Butthat it spreadnofurtheramong the people, let us straitlythreatenthem, that they speakhenceforth to nomaninthisname.
And they calledthem, andcommandedthemnot to speak at allnorteachin the name of Jesus.
ButPeterandJohnansweredandsaiduntothem, Whether it beright in the sight of God to hearkenuntoyou more thanuntoGod, judge ye.
Forwecannotbutspeak the things whichwe have seenandheard.
So when they had further threatened them, they letthemgo, findingnothinghow they might punishthem, because of the people: forall men glorifiedGodfor that which was done.
For the manwasaboveforty years old, onwhomthismiracle of healingwasshewed.
And being let go, they wentto their own company, andreportedall that the chief priestsandelders had saiduntothem.
And when they heard that, they lifted up their voicetoGod with one accord, andsaid, Lord, thou art God, which hast madeheaven, andearth, and the sea, andallthatin them is:
Whoby the mouth of thyservantDavid hast said, Whydid the heathenrage, and the peopleimagine vain things?

The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gatheredtogetheragainst the Lord, andagainsthisChrist.
Forof a truthagainstthyholychildJesus, whom thou hast anointed, bothHerod, andPontiusPilate, with the Gentiles, and the peopleofIsrael, were gathered together,

For to dowhatsoeverthyhandandthycounsel determined before to be done.
Andnow, Lord, beholdtheirthreatenings: and grant untothyservants, that withallboldness they may speakthyword,
By stretching forththinehandtoheal; and that signsandwonders may be doneby the name of thyholychildJesus.
And when they had prayed, the place was shakenwheretheywere assembled together; andtheywereallfilledwith the HolyGhost, andtheyspake the word of Godwithboldness.
And the multitude of them that believedwere of oneheartand of onesoul: neithersaidany of them that ought of the things which hepossessedwas his own; buttheyhad all thingscommon.
And with greatpowergave the apostleswitness of the resurrection of the LordJesus: andgreatgracewasuponthemall.
Neitherwas there anyamongthem that lacked: foras many aswerepossessors of landsorhousessoldthem, and brought the prices of the things that weresold,
And laid them downat the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every manaccordingas he hadneed.
AndJoses, whoby the apostles was surnamed Barnabas,(which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
Havingland, sold it, andbrought the money, andlaid it at the apostles' feet.
