Let usthereforefear, lest, a promise being leftusofenteringintohisrest, anyofyou should seem to come short ofit.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the wordpreacheddidnotprofitthem, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For we which have believed do enterintorest, as he said, As I have sworninmywrath, if they shall enterintomyrest: although the works were finishedfrom the foundation of the world.
For he spake in a certain placeof the seventhday on this wise, AndGod did rest the seventhdayfromallhisworks.
Andinthis place again, If they shall enterintomyrest.
Seeingtherefore it remaineth that some must entertherein, and they to whom it was firstpreachedenterednotinbecause of unbelief:
Again, he limiteth a certainday, sayinginDavid, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To dayif ye will hearhisvoice, hardennotyourhearts.
ForifJesus had giventhemrest, then would henotafterward have spokenofanotherday.

There remaineththerefore a rest to the people of God.
Forhe that is enteredintohisrest, healso hath ceasedfromhisownworks, asGod did fromhis.

Let us labourtherefore to enterintothatrest, lest any manfallafter the sameexample of unbelief.
For the word of God is quick, andpowerful, andsharperthananytwoedgedsword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soulandspirit, and of the jointsandmarrow, and is a discerner of the thoughtsandintents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in hissight: but all things are nakedandopened unto the eyes of himwithwhom we have to do.
Seeingthen that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we havenot an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of ourinfirmities; butwasin all pointstemptedlikeas we are, yet withoutsin.

Let usthereforecomeboldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtainmercy, andfindgrace to helpin time of need.
