Mybrethren, havenot the faith of ourLordJesusChrist, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
Forif there comeuntoyourassembly a man with a gold ring, ingoodlyapparel, and there comeinalso a poor maninvileraiment;
And ye have respecttohim that weareth the gayclothing, andsay unto him, Sitthouhere in a good place; andsayto the poor, Standthouthere, orsithereundermyfootstool:

Are yenotthenpartialinyourselves, and are becomejudges of evilthoughts?
Hearken, mybelovedbrethren, HathnotGodchosen the poor of thisworldrichinfaith, andheirs of the kingdomwhich he hathpromised to them that lovehim?
Butye have despised the poor. Donot rich menoppressyou, anddrawyoubefore the judgment seats?
Donottheyblaspheme that worthynameby the which ye are called?
If ye fulfil the royallaw according to the scripture, Thou shalt lovethyneighbourasthyself, ye dowell:
Butif ye have respect to persons, ye commitsin, and are convincedof the lawastransgressors.
Forwhosoever shall keep the wholelaw, and yetoffendinone point, he isguilty of all.
For he that said, Donotcommitadultery, saidalso, Donotkill. Nowif thou commitnoadultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
So speak ye, andsodo, as they that shall bejudgedby the law of liberty.
For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewednomercy; andmercy rejoiceth againstjudgment.
What doth it profit, mybrethren, though a mansay he hathfaith, andhavenotworks?canfaithsavehim?
If a brotherorsisterbenaked, anddestitute of dailyfood,
Andoneofyousay unto them, Departinpeace, be ye warmedandfilled; notwithstanding ye givethemnot those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Evensofaith, if it hathnotworks, isdead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thouhastfaith, and Ihaveworks: shewmethyfaithwithoutthyworks, and I will shewtheemyfaithbymyworks.
Thoubelievestthat there isoneGod; thoudoestwell: the devilsalsobelieve, andtremble.
