There was a manof the Pharisees, namedNicodemus, a rulerof the Jews:

The samecametoJesus by night, andsaid unto him, Rabbi, we knowthatthouart a teachercomefromGod: for no mancandothesemiraclesthatthoudoest, exceptGodbewithhim.
3Jesusansweredandsaid unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be bornagain, he cannotsee the kingdom of God.
4Nicodemussaithuntohim, Howcan a man be born when he isold?can he enter the second timeintohis mother's womb, and be born?
5Jesusanswered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be bornofwaterandof the Spirit, he cannotenterinto the kingdomofGod.

That which isbornof the fleshisflesh; and that which isbornof the Spiritisspirit.
7Marvelnotthat I said unto thee, Yemust be bornagain.

The windblowethwhere it listeth, and thou hearest the soundthereof, butcanstnottellwhence it cometh, andwhither it goeth: sois every one that isbornof the Spirit.
9Nicodemusansweredandsaid unto him, Howcan these thingsbe?
10Jesusansweredandsaid unto him, Artthou a master of Israel, andknowestnot these things?
11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speakthat we do know, andtestifythat we have seen; and ye receivenotourwitness.
12If I have toldyou earthly things, and ye believenot, how shall ye believe, if I tellyou of heavenly things?
13And no man hath ascended uptoheaven, but he that came downfromheaven, even the Son of manwhichisinheaven.
14AndasMoses lifted up the serpentin the wilderness, even somust the Son of man be lifted up:
16ForGodsoloved the world, that he gavehis only begottenSon, thatwhosoeverbelievethinhimshouldnotperish, buthaveeverlastinglife.
17ForGodsentnothisSoninto the worldtocondemn the world; butthat the worldthroughhim might be saved.

He that believethonhimisnotcondemned: but he that believethnotiscondemnedalready, because he hathnotbelievedin the name of the only begottenSon of God.
19Andthisis the condemnation, thatlightiscomeinto the world, andmenloveddarknessratherthanlight, becausetheirdeedswereevil.
20For every one that doethevilhateth the light, neithercomethto the light, lesthisdeeds should be reproved.
21But he thatdoethtruthcomethto the light, thathisdeeds may be made manifest, that they arewroughtinGod.
22After these thingscameJesusandhisdisciplesinto the land of Judaea; andthere he tarriedwiththem, andbaptized.
23AndJohnalsowasbaptizinginAenonnear to Salim, becausetherewasmuchwaterthere: and they came, and were baptized.
24ForJohnwas not yetcastintoprison.
25Then there arose a questionbetween some of John's disciples and the Jewsaboutpurifying.
26And they cameuntoJohn, andsaiduntohim, Rabbi, he that waswiththeebeyondJordan, towhomthou barest witness, behold, the samebaptizeth, andall men cometohim.
27Johnansweredandsaid, A mancanreceivenothing, except it begivenhimfromheaven.
28Yeyourselvesbearmewitness, thatIsaid, Iamnot the Christ, butthatIamsentbeforehim.

He that hath the brideis the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, whichstandethandhearethhim, rejoicethgreatlybecause of the bridegroom's voice: thismyjoythereforeisfulfilled.
30Hemustincrease, butImustdecrease.

He that comethfromaboveisaboveall: he that isof the earthisearthly, andspeakethof the earth: he that comethfromheavenisaboveall.
32Andwhat he hath seenandheard, that he testifieth; and no manreceivethhistestimony.

He that hath receivedhistestimony hath set to hissealthatGodistrue.
34For he whomGod hath sentspeaketh the words of God: forGodgivethnot the Spiritbymeasure unto him.

The Fatherloveth the Son, and hath given all thingsintohishand.
36
He that believethon the Sonhatheverlastinglife: and he that believethnot the Sonshallnotseelife; but the wrath of Godabidethonhim.
