Thencametogetheruntohim the Pharisees, andcertain of the scribes, which camefromJerusalem.
And when they sawsome of hisdiscipleseatbread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
For the Pharisees, andall the Jews, except they wash their handsoft, eatnot, holding the tradition of the elders.
And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eatnot. Andmany other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, andpots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
Then the Phariseesandscribesaskedhim, Whywalknotthydisciplesaccording to the tradition of the elders, buteatbread with unwashenhands?

He answeredandsaid unto them, Well hath Esaiasprophesiedofyouhypocrites, as it iswritten, Thispeoplehonourethme with theirlips, buttheirheartisfarfromme.
Howbeit in vain do they worshipme, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of potsandcups: andmanyothersuch like things ye do.
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your owntradition.
ForMosessaid, Honourthyfatherandthymother; and, Whoso cursethfatherormother, let him die the death:
Butyesay, If a man shall say to his fatherormother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, bywhatsoever thou mightest be profited byme; he shall be free.
And ye sufferhim no more to doought for hisfatherorhismother;
Making the word of God of none effect through yourtradition, whichye have delivered: andmanysuch like things do ye.
And when he had calledall the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, andunderstand:

There isnothing from without a man, thatenteringintohimcandefilehim: but the things which come out ofhim, those are theythatdefile the man.

If any manhaveears to hear, let him hear.
Andwhen he was enteredinto the housefrom the people, hisdisciplesaskedhimconcerning the parable.
And he saith unto them, Areyesowithoutunderstandingalso? Do yenotperceive, that whatsoever thing from withoutenterethinto the man, it cannotdefilehim;
Because it enterethnotintohisheart, butinto the belly, and goeth outinto the draught, purgingallmeats?
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, thatdefileth the man.
For from within, out of the heartofmen, proceedevilthoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evileye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
Allthese evil thingscome from within, anddefile the man.
And from thence he arose, andwentinto the borders of TyreandSidon, andenteredinto an house, and would have no manknow it: but he couldnot be hid.
For a certain woman, whose young daughterhad an uncleanspirit, heardofhim, and came and fellathisfeet:

The womanwas a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besoughthimthat he would cast forth the devil out ofherdaughter.
ButJesussaid unto her, Let the childrenfirst be filled: for it isnotmeet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
And she answeredandsaid unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogsunder the tableeatof the children's crumbs.
And he said unto her, Forthissaying go thyway; the devil is gone out ofthydaughter.
And when she was cometoherhouse, she found the devil gone out, andherdaughterlaidupon the bed.
Andagain, departingfrom the coasts of TyreandSidon, he cameunto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseechhimtoput his hand upon him.
And he tookhimasidefrom the multitude, andputhisfingersintohisears, and he spit, andtouchedhistongue;
And looking uptoheaven, he sighed, andsaith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
Andstraightwayhisears were opened, and the string of histongue was loosed, and he spakeplain.
Andhechargedthemthat they should tell no man: but the morehechargedthem, so much the more a great deal they published it;
And were beyond measureastonished, saying, He hath done all thingswell: he makethboth the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
