Thencame to JesusscribesandPharisees, which were ofJerusalem, saying,
Why do thydisciplestransgress the tradition of the elders?for they washnottheirhandswhen they eatbread.
But he answered and said unto them, Why do yealsotransgress the commandment of Godbyyourtradition?
ForGodcommanded, saying, Honourthyfatherandmother: and, He that cursethfatherormother, let him die the death.
Butyesay, Whosoever shall say to his fatheror his mother, It is a gift, bywhatsoever thou mightest be profitedbyme;
Andhonournothisfatherorhismother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effectbyyourtradition.

Ye hypocrites, welldidEsaiasprophesyofyou, saying,
Thispeople draweth nigh unto me with theirmouth, andhonourethme with theirlips; buttheirheartisfarfromme.
But in vain they do worshipme, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
And he called the multitude, andsaid unto them, Hear, andunderstand:
Not that which goethinto the mouthdefileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, thisdefileth a man.
Thencamehisdisciples, and said unto him, Knowest thouthat the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
But he answered and said, Everyplant, whichmyheavenlyFatherhathnotplanted, shall be rooted up.
Letthemalone: they beblindleaders of the blind. Andif the blindlead the blind, both shall fallinto the ditch.
ThenansweredPeter and said unto him, Declare unto usthisparable.
AndJesussaid, Areyealsoyet without understanding?
Donotyeyetunderstand, thatwhatsoever entereth inat the mouthgoethinto the belly, and is cast outinto the draught?
But those things whichproceed out of the mouth come forthfrom the heart; and theydefile the man.
For out of the heartproceedevilthoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Theseare the things whichdefile a man: but to eat with unwashenhandsdefilethnot a man.
ThenJesuswentthence, anddepartedinto the coasts of TyreandSidon.
And, behold, a womanofCanaancame out of the samecoasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou SonofDavid; mydaughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

But he answered and said, I amnotsentbutunto the lostsheep of the house of Israel.
Then came she and worshippedhim, saying, Lord, helpme.
But he answeredandsaid, It isnotmeet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogseatof the crumbswhichfallfromtheirmasters' table.
ThenJesusansweredandsaid unto her, Owoman, great is thyfaith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. Andherdaughter was made wholefrom that veryhour.
AndJesusdeparted from thence, andcame nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went upinto a mountain, and sat downthere.
Andgreatmultitudescame unto him, havingwiththem those that werelame, blind, dumb, maimed, andmanyothers, andcastthemdownatJesus' feet; and he healedthem:

Insomuch that the multitudewondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
ThenJesuscalledhisdisciples unto him, andsaid, I havecompassionon the multitude, because they continue with menowthreedays, andhavenothing to eat: and I willnotsendthemawayfasting, lest they faintin the way.
Andhisdisciplessay unto him, Whence should we have so muchbreadin the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
