The Phariseesalso with the Sadduceescame, andtemptingdesiredhim that he would shewthem a signfromheaven.

He answered and said unto them, When it isevening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the skyisred.
3And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is redandlowring. O yehypocrites, yecandiscern the face of the sky; butcanyenotdiscern the signs of the times?

A wickedandadulterousgeneration seeketh after a sign; and there shall nosign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophetJonas. And he leftthem, anddeparted.
5And when hisdisciples were cometo the other side, they had forgottentotakebread.
6ThenJesussaid unto them, Take heedandbewareof the leavenof the Phariseesandof the Sadducees.
7And they reasonedamongthemselves, saying, It is because we have takennobread.

Which whenJesusperceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason yeamongyourselves, becauseye have broughtnobread?

Do ye not yetunderstand, neitherremember the fiveloaves of the fivethousand, and how manybasketsye took up?
10Neither the sevenloaves of the four thousand, and how manybaskets ye took up?
11How is it that ye donotunderstandthat I spake it not to youconcerningbread, that ye should bewareof the leavenof the Phariseesandof the Sadducees?
12Then understood they how that he bade them notbewareof the leavenofbread, butof the doctrineof the Phariseesandof the Sadducees.
13WhenJesuscameinto the coasts of CaesareaPhilippi, he askedhisdisciples, saying, Whom do mensay that I the Son of manam?
14And they said, Some say that thou artJohn the Baptist: some, Elias; andothers, Jeremias, orone of the prophets.

He saith unto them, Butwhomsayye that Iam?
16AndSimonPeteransweredandsaid, Thouart the Christ, the Son of the livingGod.
17AndJesusansweredandsaid unto him, Blessed art thou, SimonBarjona: forfleshandbloodhathnotrevealed it unto thee, butmyFatherwhich is inheaven.
18And I sayalso unto thee, ThatthouartPeter, anduponthisrock I will buildmychurch; and the gates of hellshallnot prevail againstit.
19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: andwhatsoever thou shalt bindonearth shall beboundinheaven: andwhatsoever thou shalt looseonearth shall beloosedinheaven.
20Then charged hehisdisciplesthat they should tell no manthathewasJesus the Christ.
21Fromthat time forthbeganJesus to shewuntohisdisciples, how thathemustgountoJerusalem, andsuffer many thingsof the eldersand chief priestsandscribes, and be killed, and be raised again the thirdday.
22ThenPetertookhim, and began to rebukehim, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: thisshallnotbe unto thee.
23But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get theebehindme, Satan: thouart an offence unto me: for thousavourestnot the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24ThensaidJesus unto hisdisciples, If any man willcomeafterme, let him denyhimself, and take uphiscross, andfollowme.
