And it came to pass, whenJesus had finishedallthesesayings, he said unto hisdisciples,

Ye knowthataftertwodaysis the feast of the passover, and the Son of manisbetrayedto be crucified.
Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was calledCaiaphas,
Andconsultedthat they might takeJesus by subtilty, andkill him.
But they said, Noton the feast day, lest there be an uproaramong the people.
Now when JesuswasinBethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

There came unto him a womanhaving an alabaster box of very preciousointment, and poured itonhishead, as he sat at meat.
But when hisdisciplessaw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is thiswaste?
Forthisointmentmight have been soldformuch, andgiven to the poor.
WhenJesusunderstood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman?for she hath wrought a goodworkuponme.
For ye have the pooralwayswithyou; butme ye havenotalways.
For in thatshe hath pouredthisointmentonmybody, shedid it formyburial.
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoeverthisgospel shall be preachedin the wholeworld, there shall alsothis, thatthiswoman hath done, be toldfor a memorial of her.
Thenone of the twelve, calledJudasIscariot, wentunto the chief priests,
Andsaid unto them, What will yegiveme, and I will deliverhim unto you?And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
Andfrom that time he soughtopportunitytobetrayhim.
Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciplescame to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
And he said, Gointo the cityto such a man, andsay unto him, The Mastersaith, Mytimeisathand; I will keep the passoverat thy housewithmydisciples.
And the disciplesdidasJesus had appointedthem; and they made ready the passover.
Now when the even was come, he sat downwith the twelve.
And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, thatoneofyou shall betrayme.
And they were exceedingsorrowful, andbegan every one of them to say unto him, Lord, isitI?
And he answeredandsaid, He that dippeth his handwithmein the dish, the same shall betrayme.

The Sonofmangoethas it is writtenofhim: butwoe unto thatmanbywhom the Sonofman is betrayed! it hadbeengood for thatmanifhehadnotbeenborn.
ThenJudas, whichbetrayedhim, answered and said, Master, isitI? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
And as they were eating, Jesustookbread, andblessed it, andbrake it, andgave it to the disciples, andsaid, Take, eat; thisismybody.
And he took the cup, andgavethanks, andgaveit to them, saying, Drink yeallofit;
Forthisismyblood of the newtestament, whichisshedformanyfor the remission of sins.
But I say unto you, I willnotdrinkhenceforthofthisfruitof the vine, untilthatdaywhen I drinkitnewwithyouinmy Father's kingdom.
And when they had sung an hymn, they went outinto the mount of Olives.
ThensaithJesus unto them, Allye shall be offendedbecause of methisnight: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
ButafterI am risen again, I will go beforeyouintoGalilee.
Peteransweredandsaid unto him, Thoughall men shall be offendedbecause of thee, yet will Inever be offended.
Jesussaid unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Thatthisnight, before the cockcrow, thou shalt denymethrice.
Petersaid unto him, ThoughIshoulddiewiththee, yet will Inotdenythee. Likewisealsosaidall the disciples.
ThencomethJesuswiththemunto a placecalledGethsemane, andsaithunto the disciples, Sit yehere, while I goandprayyonder.
And he took with himPeterand the twosons of Zebedee, andbegan to be sorrowfuland very heavy.
And he went a littlefurther, andfellonhisface, andprayed, saying, O myFather, if it bepossible, letthiscuppassfromme: neverthelessnotasIwill, butasthou wilt.
And he comethunto the disciples, andfindeththemasleep, andsaithuntoPeter, What, could yenotwatchwithmeonehour?
Watchandpray, that ye enternotintotemptation: the spiritindeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

He went awayagainthe second time, and prayed, saying, O myFather, ifthiscupmaynot pass awayfromme, except I drinkit, thywill be done.
And he cameandfoundthemasleepagain: fortheireyeswereheavy.
And he leftthem, and went awayagain, andprayed the third time, saying the samewords.
Then cometh hetohisdisciples, andsaith unto them, Sleep onnow, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayedinto the hands of sinners.
Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betrayme.
Andwhileheyetspake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, andwithhim a greatmultitudewithswordsandstaves, from the chief priestsandelders of the people.
Nowhe that betrayedhimgavethem a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that sameishe: holdhimfast.
Andforthwith he came to Jesus, andsaid, Hail, master; andkissedhim.
AndJesussaid unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, andlaidhandsonJesus, andtookhim.
And, behold, one of them which were withJesus stretched outhishand, anddrewhissword, andstruck a servant of the high priest's, and smote offhisear.
ThensaidJesus unto him, Put up againthyswordintohisplace: for all they that take the sword shall perishwith the sword.

Thinkest thouthat I cannotnowpray to myFather, and he shall presently givememorethantwelvelegions of angels?

But howthen shall the scripturesbefulfilled, thatthus it mustbe?
In that samehoursaidJesus to the multitudes, Are ye come outasagainst a thiefwithswordsandstaves for to takeme? I satdailywithyouteachingin the temple, and ye laidnohold on me.
Butallthis was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Thenall the disciplesforsookhim, and fled.
And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him awaytoCaiaphas the high priest, where the scribesand the elders were assembled.
ButPeterfollowedhim afar offunto the high priest's palace, andwentin, andsatwith the servants, to see the end.
Now the chief priests, andelders, andall the council, sought false witnessagainstJesus, toputhimtodeath;
Butfoundnone: yea, though many false witnessescame, yet foundtheynone. At the lastcametwo false witnesses,
Andsaid, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to builditinthreedays.
And the high priestarose, andsaid unto him, Answerest thounothing?what is it which these witness againstthee?
ButJesus held his peace. And the high priestansweredandsaid unto him, I adjuretheeby the livingGod, thatthoutelluswhetherthoube the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesussaith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of mansittingon the right hand of power, andcomingin the clouds of heaven.
Then the high priestrenthisclothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; whatfurtherneed have we of witnesses?behold, now ye have heardhisblasphemy.
Whatthinkye? They answeredandsaid, He isguilty of death.
Then did they spitinhisface, andbuffetedhim; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smotethee?
NowPetersatwithoutin the palace: andadamselcame unto him, saying, ThoualsowastwithJesus of Galilee.
But he deniedbefore them all, saying, I knownotwhat thou sayest.
And when hewas gone outinto the porch, another maid sawhim, andsaid unto them that were there, This fellow wasalsowithJesus of Nazareth.
Andagain he deniedwith an oath, I donotknow the man.
Andafter a while came unto him they that stood by, andsaid to Peter, Surelythoualsoart one ofthem; forthyspeechbewrayeththee.
Then began he to curseand to swear, saying, I knownot the man. Andimmediately the cockcrew.
AndPeterremembered the word of Jesus, whichsaid unto him, Before the cockcrow, thou shalt denymethrice. And he went out, andweptbitterly.
