Afterthis there was a feast of the Jews; andJesus went uptoJerusalem.
Now there isatJerusalemby the sheep market a pool, whichiscalled in the Hebrew tongueBethesda, havingfiveporches.
Intheselay a greatmultitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
For an angel went downat a certain seasoninto the pool, andtroubled the water: whosoever thenfirstafter the troublingof the water stepped in was madewholeofwhatsoeverdisease he had.
And a certainmanwasthere, which had an infirmitythirtyandeightyears.

When Jesussawhimlie, andknewthat he had beennow a longtime in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be madewhole?

The impotent manansweredhim, Sir, Ihavenoman, when the water is troubled, toputmeinto the pool: butwhileI am coming, another steppeth downbeforeme.
Jesussaith unto him, Rise, take upthybed, andwalk.
Andimmediately the manwasmadewhole, and took uphisbed, andwalked: andon the samedaywas the sabbath.

The Jewsthereforesaid unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it isnotlawful for thee to carry thy bed.

He answeredthem, He that mademewhole, the samesaid unto me, Take upthybed, andwalk.
Then asked theyhim, Whatmanis that whichsaid unto thee, Take upthybed, andwalk?
And he that washealedwistnotwho it was: forJesus had conveyed himself away, a multitudebeingin that place.
AfterwardJesusfindethhimin the temple, andsaid unto him, Behold, thou art madewhole: sin no more, lest a worse thingcome unto thee.

The mandeparted, andtold the Jewsthat it wasJesus, which had madehimwhole.
Andthereforedid the JewspersecuteJesus, andsought to slayhim, because he had done these thingson the sabbath day.
ButJesusansweredthem, MyFatherworkethhitherto, and Iwork.
Therefore the Jewssought the more to killhim, becausehenotonly had broken the sabbath, butsaidalso that God was hisFather, makinghimselfequal with God.
ThenansweredJesusandsaid unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Soncandonothingofhimself, butwhatheseeth the Fatherdo: forwhat things soeverhedoeth, thesealsodoeth the Sonlikewise.
For the Fatherloveth the Son, andshewethhim all thingsthathimselfdoeth: and he will shewhimgreaterworksthanthese, thatye may marvel.
Foras the Father raiseth up the dead, andquickeneth them; evenso the Sonquickenethwhom he will.
For the Fatherjudgeth no man, but hath committedalljudgment unto the Son:
Thatall men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He thathonourethnot the Sonhonourethnot the Fatherwhich hath senthim.
Verily, verily, I sayuntoyou, He that hearethmyword, andbelieveth on him that sentme, hatheverlastinglife, andshallnotcomeintocondemnation; but is passedfromdeathuntolife.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The houriscoming, andnowis, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Foras the Fatherhathlifeinhimself; sohath he given to the Son to havelifeinhimself;
And hath givenhimauthority to executejudgmentalso, because he is the Son of man.
Marvelnot at this: for the hour is coming, in the whichall that are in the graves shall hearhisvoice,
And shall come forth; they that have donegood, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have doneevil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Icanof mine ownselfdonothing: asIhear, Ijudge: andmyjudgmentisjust; becauseIseeknot mine ownwill, but the willof the Father which hath sentme.
IfI bear witnessofmyself, mywitnessisnottrue.

There isanotherthat beareth witnessofme; and I knowthat the witnesswhich he witnessethofmeistrue.
YesentuntoJohn, and he bare witnessunto the truth.
ButIreceivenottestimonyfromman: but these thingsIsay, thatye might be saved.
Hewas a burningand a shininglight: andye were willingfor a season to rejoiceinhislight.
ButIhavegreaterwitness than thatofJohn: for the workswhich the Father hath givenmetofinish, the sameworksthatIdo, bear witnessofme, that the Father hath sentme.
And the Fatherhimself, which hath sentme, hath borne witnessofme. Ye haveneitherheardhisvoice at any time, norseenhisshape.
Andyehavenothiswordabidinginyou: forwhom he hath sent, himyebelievenot.
Search the scriptures; forinthemyethinkyehaveeternallife: andthey are they which testifyofme.
And ye willnotcometome, that ye might havelife.

I receivenothonourfrommen.
But I knowyou, that ye havenot the love of Godinyou.

I amcomeinmy Father's name, and ye receivemenot: ifanother shall comein his ownname, him ye will receive.
Howcanyebelieve, which receivehonour one of another, andseeknot the honour that cometh fromGodonly?
DonotthinkthatI will accuseyouto the Father: there is one thataccusethyou, even Moses, inwhomyetrust.
For had ye believedMoses, ye would have believedme: forhewroteofme.
Butif ye believenothiswritings, how shall ye believemywords?
